Dear Officer Longbehn,
I am a retired L.A. County Deputy living in Denver Colorado. Sorry for your loss, and know that it will be tough to start with a new partner.
I have a GSD will be 2 years in May out of top working lines from the Kraftwerks kennel in Washington state. I had begun Schutzhund Training, but for the past two months have not been working my dog. He is not happy about that... This dog is one of the highest drive dogs that you will find, acts like a Malanois. I tried to obtain a BH in October, failed, and the judge told everyone there that "Visto" was the best dog at the trial and went on and on...
I paid $3,000. he is top quality, and would need probably 3 months training, which I know a Denver PD K-9 guy who is a K-9 consultant that could turn him into a top law enforcement dog. Your department would have to pay the trainer, but I would donate the dog.
He actually looks like Kody, and will make Kody proud. Let me know if you are interested and we will make it happen. My dog was born to "bite" and I want him to be happy he deserves it. PLEASE contact me ASAP if interested.

I know nothing can be done as the susect was shot to death but if it makes things any better here in Canada anyone who injures or kills a K9 police officer and they survive (THE CRIMINL) they are charged with a murder. We have laws that make the police dogs have the same as a police offier. We have in the past few years had some of the police dogs waring bullett proof vests which has also helped them. REP Kody and know you served man kind well. My thoughts go out to Kodys handler. This must be a difficult time for you.
