All these years later, I still think about Kody.

Just read about Kody. Can't say sorry enough. All the K-9 officers are very brave. I watch with honor. They do such a wonderful job, as do all police dogs. My heart goes out to his handler and the whole department. I know he will be missed greatly. I can see the bond and love between each officer and K-9. Thanks to each of you for putting you lives on the lines every day for us! Bless you!!

I met Kody once. He was a very nice dog, and he was extremely kind to me and all of the others he met. I was browsing this website, and saw the Kody had died. My heart sunk, and I felt horrible. At least I knew that he served his handler, the St. Paul PD, and the public very well.

I am related to Kodys handler...Kody was a loving and brave dog. He would and did do anything to protect people around him. He was the star at our family reunion...he was family. He died in the line of duty, the highest honor. He died doing his job. There's a great episode on k9 cops Minnesota showing kody eating treats, his favorite thing.

For after creating the world God Rested and thought, I need to make something for man, To show devotion, true love and undying faith. God said I will spell my name backwards and make Dog for man. So it was and always shall be.

God of All Living Things, you do, indeed, work in mysterious ways. Only You would use a dog to help mold a man. I'm told no living creature-not even a sparrow-falls to earth beyond Your watchful eye. If that be so, then You already know old Kody missed the hunt today. You open my heart to the wisdom of the ages.

To Loyalty: He accepted me exactly as I am.
To Patience: He would quietly wait and watch for my moods to pass.
To Forgiveness: One word, a crack of a smile, and he was back at my side again.
To Friendship: He was always there when I needed him.
To Humor: He filled my belly and my day with laughter.
To Love: He loved me unconditionally; very much I suppose like Your love for mankind.

Now that his big heart has beat its last, I want to thank You, Lord for blessing this man with this dog's life.

I have lost a K9 partner and words cannot aptly describe the bond and the loss that is felt upon death. My sympathies to Officer Longbehn and remember Kody died doing what he loved and was trained for--if you gotta go (and we all do) might as well go with your boots on. RIP

My heart is sad for yet another fallen hero. :( RIP Kody) May you have many juicy treats and many bones. Go and play ball in a place where there are no bad guys to chase. Only balls and toys. You have done your duty now enjoy what you have been missing. As for your handler, I am deeply saddened that you have lost your partner, your friend. Keep your head up brother. Kody is in a better place now.
