Reflections for K9 Nash

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families of our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a Law Enforcement K-9 family member, Shot and Killed in the Line-of-Duty, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. Amen.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 ESV]

“And ALL flesh shall see the salvation of God.” [Luke 3:6 ESV]

“For NOT ALL flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.” [1 Corinthians 15:39 ESV]

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” [Matthew 25:23 ESV]

The loss of such a friend and partner can never be erased from memory. Having been there and done that I can only hope that even though your holiday season had a giant hole in it that his memory strengthened both of your families. His sacrafice will not be forgotten. My son has talk about Nash many times and we feel your pain and send you and your family, and Nash, our prayers. One day he will meet up with you in heaven, where?, "at the flag pole". Where else would warriors meet.

Where Nash is, there are no longer criminals or bad people, only golden fire hydrants, streets lined with bone-in tenderloin steaks, and other happy dogs from horizon to horizon!

K9s are special, they never talk back, never complain, and will always protect you, even though the person they're protecting is usually more than twice their size.
