Born on July 1, 1997, Arco's K-9 career started with the Hancock County K-9 department in February of 1999. When the K-9 unit of Hancock County was disbanded, they generously donated Arco to the Marion County Sheriff's Department. Arco was soon partnered with Corporal Mark Archer of the Marion County Sheriff's Department.
"All Arco wanted to do was work. He was never a dog that we had to worry about as we always knew he would never let us down with the job assigned to him", Corporal Archer stated.
Arco gave his life to protect his partner, Corporal Archer, and the other officers on the scene.
