Victor, You opened your door to me and made me feel welcome from the start, we went through a lot in six years, good and bad.I remember rushing to the hospital with your son when we heard the news. I was there when they declared you dead, and even though you did not know it, I was carrying your second grandchild, who now carries your name; it was my promise to your son, that if I had a boy he would be named after you. Through him your name carries on. I'm just sorry you couldn't meet him, you two would've gotten along great... I hope you are watching over him from where you are and keeping him safe from harm, just as you did for us all when you walked this earthly plain...you are greatly missed and remembered fondly.

Victor just the other day I was speaking about you,all good of course. I remember the first time I turned in an accident report to you and you just tore it up. When I asked you why you had tore it up, without even reading it you said, "Rookie practice makes perfect, now do it again". I will never forget the afternoon when the dispatcher raised me and asked me if I knew your whereabouts. I knew some thing was wrong, drastically wrong. I raced to Jackson Memorial Hospital where I remained with you and your family. I was there when the Lord took you home. Rest in peace, I will never forget you. Sgt. Mike Narganes ( Retired) Cit of Miami Police Department 2008-12-09

Victor you were an inspiration for me to become a cop I grew up in little Habana where many times you spank me over the head and took me to my parents at S.W.8 ave and 1 St.because i was either shoplifting candies at Walgreens or hanging out with a bad crowd in the Cuban ghetto. When you saw me the fisrt time at the station we hugged each other and i thanked you in which you let me have another in the head and told me to take care every time you took a 19 i was allways near Even though my career was cut short cause of a work related injury i have never forgotten you and never will. See you one day again and my friend keep hooking those cars where ever you are. Roberto Ravelo Sr. police officer 2008-02-26
I was thinking of you today and I often visit your site, Bill Craig's and Bill Bill's. It will be 20 yrs in a few months. I remember like it was a few months ago rushing to the ER at Jackson Hospital and staying with you and your family until you departed. Miss you much my friend, you were like a dad to me. See you one day soon. Terry Russell Ret. City of Miami PD 2007-11-13
The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known. He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat. Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found. He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool. His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man. He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time. And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love. But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday. Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night. Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest. So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead. In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried. Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best. It is a sad thing that the two brothers that cause the death of this one time exceptional officer are getting a new trial and may go free. I knew Officer estefan when i was growing up in the city of miami he would always talk to us kids and tell us to do right. Now the persons guilty of the crime may go free. Anonymous
