Trooper Charles P. Corbin was my father. I was 15 month old when he was killed. My father was and remains my inspiration to this day some 60 years later. Captain G. Paul Corbin (Retired) I have been assigned to write a report about Trooper Corbin. Upon being hired by the Patrol we had to watch a presentation on the fallen officers. It brought tears to my ears and made me realize that even thought they may be gone, their service will never be forgotten. I can honestly say that I appreciate all that has been done by these men and I will make sure I never forget. Catherine Ramer You are a true hero who made the ultimate sacrifice. May the memory of your service, heroism and sacrifice remain forever. Rest in peace Troop... Trooper Trooper Charles P. Corbin was my father and has remained my inspiration and hero over the past 60 years since his death (I was 15 months old when he was killed in the line of duty). Recently we were able to have US 71 through Jasper County MO named the "Trooper Charles P. Corbin Memorial Highway" in his honor. Trooper Corbin was the fourth Missouri State Trooper killed in the line of duty in the Patrol’s history and the first to die as a result of a motor vehicle crash. Prior to joining the Patrol he served as a Cape Girardeau, MO police officer. Simultaneously, he attained the rank of Sergeant Major in the MO Army National Guard. He was a loving husband and father who served his city, state and nation with dignity and honor. Chief/Colonel Rest in Peace Brother...you are not forgotten.
