 | Police Officer Michael A. Robbins Chicago Police Department Illinois Saturday, September 13, 2008 |
I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Robbins. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.
From reading the reflections left for Michael, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Michael's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Michael's life was about so much more than the way he died. Michael will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.
Officer Robbins, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost seven years but we still miss him terribly.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)

For Police Officer Michael A. Robbings:
Any police officer who is gunned-downed in a battle to bring peace, justice and tranquility to our midst is a hero.
A police officer, such as Mike Robbins, without a doubt, has earned his place in the hall of heros. Having fought the battle for life for fifteen years after confronting eleven bullets makes him hero among heros in a unique, if not a special, way. He has the esteem of all his brothers and sisters in law enforcement. My guess is he would be modest and shun the attention.
My further guess is that he did not have it easy. He body and his mind were certain to have felt the toll. I cannot imagine, I can only speculate. Surely only he can know. I am certain that his partner, on that fateful day, would have a better understanding than any of us who have not faced such a situation. And lived.
For Mike Robbins I have only admiration and respect. I pray for his family, his friends and the co-workers that knew him. They can all look to him for strength in the future. Nobody could possibly have known strength as he did.
To Police Officer Michael A. Robbins I render a final salute. Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.) Pennylvania State Police 2009-06-20
God Speed, Brother. P.O. K.Murphy Union PD, NJ 2009-06-20

To Officer Michael Robbins, to all family members and friends who call him beloved, and to his law enforcement family:
I was sorry to learn of Michael's death and extend my sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered. Words are insufficient to describe the sadness I feel for the Robbins family. May you find comfort in your faith and the support of the law enforcement community.
There are many police survivors who share this same journey with you, and that community will be there to support you. Michael's memory will be forever honored and revered.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Michael gave to his community and the citizens of Illinois and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on September 13, 2008.
