Detective Thurston, you helped to protect one of America’s most vital resources, it’s railroads. Without the railroads, American commerce wouldn’t have flourished as it did and without men like you, the railroads wouldn’t have had nearly the protection needed to operate. The Railroad Police Officer is as vital a part of law enforcement as any though many railroads seem to have given the men and women who watch over them a lesser role. I feel your sacrifice was not in vain and you have not been forgotten. Freight and passengers need protection and it is the women and men like you who’s under appreciated efforts go on day in and day out.

God Bless, brother, and may you continue to Rest in Peace. You are a hero.
