Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace. Our nation will never forget its 9/11 heroes.

I said a little prayer today for Captain Gilpin and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

Ed was the first person I met upon walking into PSA 1 in 1985. He was the Desk Officer, greeted me warmly, welcoming me to the command, treated myself and other officers with respect, and got respect in return. It does not surprise me that he spent 6 months on the pile, because he never forgot where he came from. He was a good cop, a great boss, and a wonderful human being. The world is better for having had im in it.
