Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace in such incidents & our only real comfort comes from Him. May His strength, comfort & peace continue to be the sustaining force in the lives of all who knew this beloved officer; and may it somehow help to know they do not grieve alone. Vicki Hare, Telecommunicator Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God. -Matthew 5:9 James Clendening I was a classmate of Randys at the Tarrant County College Police Academy. Randy was a wonderful person and police officer and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Randys family. To his wife and daughter I can only amagine the pain and grief you are feeling and just want you to now that because of officers like Randy the world is a better and safer place. Officer Roger Cannon Though I only met you a couple of times in passing I have heard what a great officer you are. Though you are in heaven now you will never be truly gone from this earth because the stories, the memories, and the place for you in the hearts of all you touched will live forever. Thank you so much for your service and for giving all to this profession. Rest In Peace Officer White. Officer Melson May you rest in peace, Sir! You will never be forgotten. Patrolman Robert Wigton #9516 I would like to send my heartfelt sympathy out to the family and friends of Sgt. White. No words can heal a tragic loss like this. God Bless and Be Safe. Officer Thomas Royal Sgt. White, Anonymous My thoughts and prayers are with those friends and family members that are left behind and cannot follow. Rest in peace my brother in blue...we will take it from here. PFC Adam F Laser On April 2, 2009, Sgt. Randy White #804 died in the line of duty as he protected the citizens of Bridgeport Texas. Sgt. White served with my department for about two years and I was assigned to be his first field training officer (FTO). During our time together Randy and I shared stories about family, hobbies and other things of interest. Randy soon discovered my fear of grasshoppers and clowns and the pranks never ended. I remember a time when I opened my locker prior to beginning my shift and discovered it had been filled with paper grasshoppers and evil clowns. Randy never confessed or denied being involved, but a close friend (Lori/dispatcher) laughed and said it was Randy all the way. Any officer who worked with Randy could have seen that he was destined to become a great officer. Randy’s passion for serving and protecting seemed like he was born to fight crime. Randy soon expressed interest with the Bridgeport PD and left my department and continued his crime fighting career with Bridgeport PD. On April 2, 2009, Randy died doing what he loved, being a police officer. There are no words that I can describe other than I’m honored to have served with an officer like Randy. Rest easy brother, until we meet again for roll call and walk the beats of heaven together. Sgt. Tim Cortez My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I too unfortunately have felt the pain of losing a LEO in the line of duty back in December 2005. At times it is not easy but I had to remember I needed to be strong for my two children. I consider myself a survivor. I don't wish this pain on anyone. Everytime a LEO is killed in the line of duty it brings back all the memories. Those of us who have been through it can actually feel your pain because we were there. Remember you never lose memories. Don't ever hesitate to get in contact with me if you need to. I hope you can find comfort in knowing how much Randy touched so many people's lives. He was truly a special person. For now, I will just say see you later, Great White, because I know I will see you one day on the Golden Streets of Heaven. Lori Bennett God Bless Chief George Yaccich You are in a better place now and are truely missed by your co-workers and family. We never had the pleasure of meeting as you became a part of the "port" after I left. After attending your service, You were and still are a truely Great Man and Individual. You are greatly missed. Janet held strong during the service and I was amazed by her strength in such a difficult time. The stories told about you were lifting and of how much of an amazing person you were. You are missed by all and I know that your little girl will be looked after well by the Bridgeport Police Department. Carry on your good work as you now walk in greatness above us all. Keep us safe as we keep those safe down here. Rest in peace Brother. Ofc P. Kappes #710 RIP Brother. L. Pendleton #137 Fallen Heroes Sgt. Barry L. Moore Sarge you will be greatly missed. I knew I could count on you to answer the phone at 3 am. It did not matter what what I needed whether it was something in my personal life, of something going on at the PD. I knew you would always answer the phone and talk. We all have a great void in ourlives now that personally I don't know how I am going to fill yet. You wife is a great woman and very strong I might add and believe it or not she has someone who has helped all of us at the Police Department handle what has happened in the last few days. Please know that your wife will be taken care of and she will forever be a part of this Police Department as you would have been too. Rest in peace Brother. Cpl R. Schwartz #805 Rest in Peace Brother. You will be sorely missed. F. Officer Winslow "BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS". Randy Keenan / Sgt. Retired
