St. Michael's sword darts through the air
and touches the aureole on his hair
As he sees them stand saluting there,
His stalwart sons:
And Patrick, Brigid, Columkill
Rejoice that in veins of warriors still
The Gael's blood runs.
And up to Heaven's doorway floats,
From the wood called Rouge Bouquet,
A delicate cloud of bugle notes
That softly say:
"Farewell!
Farewell!
Comrades true, born anew, peace to you!
Your souls shall be where the heroes are
And your memory shine like the morning-star.
Brave and dear,
Shield us here.
Farewell!"

Its crazy, i talked to you for an hour in the operations room 5 hours before the crash. You talked about how "your getting to old for this sh**." You made fun of half the people that walked into the room. You were yelling about how your never gonna cut your friends lawn again because all she does is complain, even though you were still going to do it!
Then the next time i saw you, i held the door for your wife and kids at Temple Hospital. To this day the sad whimpers from them as they observed a sight no family should ever have to see are stuck in my head.

Your funeral was one of the hardest days of my life.

As you would have wanted, we then celebrated your life at the benifit as we got the sad news about P/O JP.

God bless you and please watch over us..especially in the 24 and the 35.

On this Thanksgiving Day, I thank you Sgt. Simpson for your service and hope that you can rest in peace now. My 2 1/2 year old daughter tells my husband and I both to "be safe" when we leave for work and she doesn't even understand why just yet. She wanted to know why mommy was sad when we saw all the policemen on TV on Monday.
God Speed, Sgt. Simpson and we'll take it from here.

Sgt.,
I was distraught and numb to hear of your passing. I've had the honor of attending the funerals in Philly this year and quite honestly don't know how the Department moves forward- but they do. As they do, they'll never forget you or your family's sacrifice.
Probably the hardest part was explaining to my 3 yr. old son on monday morning- why the police men on the t.v. looked so sad and were walking next to the horses. I told him because a police man became an angel and had to go home to God. He accepted that answer and said what about the bad guy? I replied the bad guy is in jail. My son said "good" the bad guy should not go with the angels. So true from a 3 yr. old's perspective, ha? God speed.
