To those who loved Officer Fezatte, my heart goes to you all. Know that you're not alone in this journey you walk. I lost my fiance in the line of duty January 2003 and my world was forever changed. It's been a long hard road, and even as time as gone forward, and I've found many reasons and ways to smile, I still have not forgotten the man that he was. Dennis was a beautiful person and he forever has a part of my heart, just as I'm sure James will always be a part of yours.

It takes a special person to put their lives on the line everyday to make this world a little safer for us all. I know many of these men never would've thought of themselves as "heroes" but they were in so many ways. It's sad that it they had to lose their lives for some of us to see that. Having said that, thank you Officer Fezatte for helping to make this world a better place. You will not be forgotten here in Winnipeg. I know this isn't a very manly thing to do, but if you happen to run into Dennis up there, please give him a big hug for the kids and I. Dennis was a good man and we miss him more than words can say.

Wishing those who loved you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne

Jim, Even though I thought I knew you were a great man I am only Begining to know what great things you had done here on earth, day by day story by story. Your family has become great friends with a lot of the officers and we have all tried to keep a close eye on Cyndi and the boys. To bad we were not as close, while you were still with us, because our wives have a lot in common and the biys are something else. Austin got me real good the other night, playing a joke on me, but that is for another time. Keep us safe there brother and we will help you look after the family.

Cyndi and boys, I cannot express to you how much Jim meant to me and this department. He was always pleasant and smiling.I recall what his brother said at the memorial service "Jimmy always had that certain smile (smirk) on his face as though he knew something that I didn't,"
well, I think about that smile he was refering to, cause I've seen it too. Jim would still be here doing paper work and as I would enter the building he'd look up with that smile and give me the most welcome greeting. How I miss that! I miss him standing at my door waiting, patiently for me to unload my stuff, then ask me for something he needed, always with that 'knowing something' smile. I look forward to seeing that smile again, at the gate of heaven, cause I know that's where Jim is patroling now.
This department is so blessed for knowing Jim, even for such a short time. God bless you Cyndi, Travis and Austin, and Thank you Jim! RIP

Jim, it was an honor to have worked with you. You were one of those rare officers that are in high demand by departments nation wide. You came to work prepared for duty, with a smile and a great attitude, completing any assignment with professionalism and compassion for others. Even though you were only with us for a short time, you were easliy one of the most respected officers in the department. More importantly, you were a good man. We will miss you here but we know that God needs good police officers to patrol his streets. Do not worry about your family. They are our family and we will be here for them. Rest In Peace Brother.

Officer Fezatte,
We really miss seeing your smile at the high school. Thank you for serving your country and the community of Millbrook. We miss you so much and I say a prayer for your family every time I pass your cross on Main Street. I know you at watching over us from above because you've always had a servant's heart. Rest in peace.
