My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. They have been a blessing and a comfort, and I thank those dear folks who have contributed. It has been 6 months since I was told of Jarod's death, and it is only now that I can write something. I am proud and honored to have been the mother of such a wonderful man. He was a respectful, bright, and loving boy and then man. He died defending the country that he loved, and I am proud of him for that. I, and his entire family, miss him terribly but he is in a much better place and we will see him again. It's been a long hard road, and even as time as gone forward, and I've found many reasons and ways to smile, I still have not forgotten the man that he was.
