Your heroism and service is honored today, the 138th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. You must have been very proud to have your descendent follow in your footsteps.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace.

Though it took time for you to receive proper tribute, your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

It has taken 136 years but your name finally appears where it belongs, with all the other heroes. I'm sure the Chicago Police Dept. will add your name to their monument on the lake front to be displayed with honor and dignity that you deserve. Keep watch over those CPD officers still out on patrol watching over the thin blue line. You will never be forgotten.
