Randall has been a true inspiration in my life knowing him as a co worker and a friend who I worked with at the beginning of my carrer.
His honesty and integrity has always been a example for me to follow in the past, and many years to come.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the thirteenth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

I was visiting a friend in NC today and, on the way there, drove over a bridge that was named in your honor. I always make it a habit to come look up the name when I get home so I can learn about what it was that ended that person's tour of duty. So 12 years after your passing, there are people out there learning about you and how you served your community. Thank you for all that you did. Natasha Hubbard

Forced into retirement, but often remember that Sunday morning when you passed. I remember how I felt that afternoon when I found out. You are gone but you are never forgotten. I think of you often and I am proud to have been your friend and comrade in grey. Rest in peace my dear friend. Jeffery R Nettles, Retired SCHP District 5 2008-03-07
"The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known. He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat. Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found. He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool. His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man. He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time. And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love. But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday. Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night. Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest. So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead. In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried. Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best. Lance Corporal Hewitt you are a hero. Thank you for your service to the citizens of South Carolina. May you rest in peace my brother. May God continue to bless your loved ones. State Constable J.L. Green S.C. State Constables 2006-06-23
The policeman stood and faced his God, which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning just as brightly as his brass. "Step foward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My church have you been true?" The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No lord. I gues I ain't. Because those of us who carry badges, can't always be a saint." I've had to work most Sundays and at time my talk was rough... and sometimes I've been violent because the strees are awful tough." "But I never took a penny, that wasn't mine to keep... though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got just to step." "And I never passed a cry for help, though at time I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I wept unmanly tears." "I know I don't deserve a place mong the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear." "If you have a place for me here, Lord it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had to much, But if you don't... I'll understand." There was a silence all around the throne, where the saints had often trod, as the policeman waited quietly for the judgment of his God. "Step foward now, policeman. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk the beat on Heavens strees. You've done your time in hell."

I don't know what to say. I finally found your memorial and I just want to tell you something. I go to school with your son, and he is a growing boy. He is soo fun to hang out with, and is a good football player. He is one of my good friends, and I know you'd be proud. You will never be forgotten! Sgt. Brandon Grove Florence Police Dept. Randall was an outstanding officer. He was quiet and performed his duties without fail. I worked with Randall for several years and found him to be a quiet person but a person who was very honest, friendly and a God fearing man. He is missed by all who knew him in this area. Anonymous
