Det. Swain,
On today, the 84th anniversary of your murder, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your community, but also for our Country when you served during the Spanish American War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

My grandfather was a very brave man and he died in a cruel way. A good officer who was trying to protect others and gave his life doing so. I'm sure my father, his son was very proud of him . I am.
