Lieutenant Ted Mays responded to a disturbance call where suspects were fighting in a local bar on Beaver Grade Road. As Lieutenant Mays tried to quell the disturbance, he fell to the ground with a fatal heart attack.
Lieutenant Mays had served with the Robinson Township Police Department for 17 years. He was survived by his wife, four sons, two daughters, and 13 grandchildren.
