Suspect Info: One committed suicide Officer Massey was shot and killed during a traffic stop near I-20 of a car suspected of being used in an armed robbery and shooting the night before. During the stop one of the two men inside opened fire, fatally wounding Officer Massey. Both suspects were apprehended. One of the suspects was sentenced to life and other was sent to a juvenile detention facility, which he escaped from. After his escape he was recaptured and sent to the Jefferson Correctional Facility, where he murdered Alabama Department of Corrections Officer William Donaldson in 1990 when Officer Donaldson entered a segregation unit to dispense medicine.
