View all 33 ReflectionsYou are always remembered and Never Forgotten Sergeant Freed. The program for the better because of you. That was your lasting legacy. I was blessed and privileged to be able to visit your memorial plaque and photo at the central park precinct recently to pay my respects. Through research in the newspapers and hearing stories from people that knew you, I was happy to hear that your fiancée at the time and partner that night honored your legacy and became a NYC Corrections Officer, Retiring After 20 Years. She never remarried. You were the love of her life! A week after your passing, two letters came in the mail, 1 for Nassau County Police Officer & The Other U.S. Postal Police Officer. I know if you lived, you would have made a great career! APS remembered you last year with a beautiful ceremony honoring your sacrifice. They even found your fiancée after 45 years of searching.... if only your parents were alive to see the tributes that the city showed you. Rest Easy Sergeant Freed! We honor, We Respect, We Remember You!
