Floyd Taylor DeLoach, Jr.

Officer DeLoach was shot and killed while working a uniformed security assignment at a local bowling alley at 650 West Crosstimbers Street. He was questioning a man wanted on armed robbery charges when the man shot him six times. The suspect's identification was found at the scene of the murder. Officer DeLoach was transported to Heights Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The 22-year-old suspect was convicted of murder with malice and sentenced to life. The suspect was paroled in July 1983

Officer DeLoach was a U.S Army veteran and had served with the Houston Police Department for five years. He was survived by his wife, two children, parents, and sister.
