Unknown to the officers, one of the men had just shot and wounded a Harris County Deputy. When the Patrolmen exited their patrol vehicle one suspect fired killing Patrolman Crosby wand wounding his partner. The suspects escaped but were arrested the next day. The shooter was convicted of capital murder and executed on April 4, 1957. Patrolman Crosby had been with the agency for 14 months. |
