Johnny Rush Bowman

Trooper Johnny Bowman was stabbed to death at 4:18 a.m. when an unidentified male attacked him at his home in the 8900 block of Patterson Place in Manassas, Virginia.

A suspect was identified but was never charged due to a lack of evidence.

Trooper Bowman, who also served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, had served with the been with the Virginia State Police for five years. He is survived by his wife and daughter, who went on to become a police officer.
