City Marshal John Blair was shot and killed as he attempted to stop a shootout between a father, son, and a man the father thought was having an affair with his wife.
Marshal Blair and the father were both killed.
Three years later, the son and the man accused of the affair were in another shootout in which the son was killed.
Marshal Blair was survived by his wife, four daughters, mother, and seven siblings.
