Officer White was shot and killed during a robbery on Alison Court, SW.

Officer White was shot in the head shortly before 2 a.m. when he went into a 7-11 store on the corner of Alison Court and DeLowe Drive in SW Atlanta. Witnesses stated three young men were robbing the store when Officer White, who was taking a break from a special guard duty assignment at the mayor’s house, came in. He was standing in front of the soft drink cooler when one of the robbers opened fire shooting him in the head. A police helicopter flew him to the hospital where doctors operated to remove the bullet from the back of his head. The bullet entered his left eye and tore through his brain, lodging into the back of his skull. After several operations he died from his injury.
