Harry Lloyd Ashley

Special Agent Harry Ashley was shot and killed while investigating a suspicious person in the passenger station in Stockton, California.

When Agent Ashley approached the suspect and asked him to leave, the man fired a handgun concealed in a paper bag, striking Agent Ashley in the throat.

A suspect was charged with his murder in 1953 but was released due to a lack of evidence. No one else was ever charged.

Agent Ashley had served for four years as a special agent. He was survived by his wife.
