View all 27 ReflectionsAs I sit here in an empty nest, as the 2 year old son I have raised since 31 Oct 2004 is now a 20 year old man in his second year of college. I found myself going through old boxes and came across a card your sister sent me during my darkest time. I do remember the card from 18 years ago, but needed to refresh my memory of what a brave man you were and the family that loves you. You chose to put your life on the line to save another. You chose to go forward. You chose to have no fear. We need more like you today.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
