James Buford Robinson

Trooper James Robinson was killed while assisting Talladega police officers in an investigation of a report of a man with a rifle on Battle Street.

The man, 24, shot at both Talladega officers, wounding one, before running approximately 10 blocks and entering a home on Chandler Street. The man exited the home and shot Trooper Robinson in the throat. The man was taken into custody after being shot and wounded.

Trooper Robinson was a Korean War veteran and had served with the Alabama Department of Public Safety for seven years. He was survived by his wife, son, and brother.
