Officer Pasco was shot and killed during a foot chase. He had observed the suspect shooting a handgun into the air and request backup as he began a foot chase. During the chase the suspect turned and shot him in the head. Officer Pasco had arrested the same man ten months earlier for possessing a gun.

The suspect was convicted and sentenced to death and executed on March 25, 1993.

Officer Pasco had been with the agency for two years and was survived by his parents.
