Constable Jackson was out on patrol from Maple Creek to his Detachment at Ten Mile, Saskatchewan on June 06, 1906. His horse was discovered on June 10, 1906 on the bank of a creek.

On June 11, 1906, his body was discovered about one half mile below where his horse tracks entered the creek. He had apparently drowned while attempting to cross the swollen creek.
